The Marshall Plan
The Marshall Plan was the plan to help and aid Europe after the devastation it faced during World War 2. Needless to say, Europe was a mess. They were facing famine, disease outbreaks, and a massive decrease in population. Their economy was crumbling, and most of Europe was in ruins. Between the years 1945 and 1947 many countries helped Europe regain its composure. The United States was helping rebuild their Economy and assist with the famine, Greece and Turkey provided weapons and soldiers, And the United Nations helped with Humanitarian efforts. The massive effort was brought on by the fact that with Europe's vulnerable state, it was highly feared they would succumb to communist ideas. During this time, the President of the United States offered the same help to the Soviet Union, but their leader, Stalin, declined and promised his people aid.
